Archaeological Area of Peristeria

It’s considered one of the most important centers of the pre-Mycenean civilization, since it’s been characterized as the “Myceneans of Wester Peloponnese”. Excavations began by Spyros Marinatos in 1960, but his sudden death in an accident caused excavations to end.
At the end of the 70's, professor George Korres continued excavations.
